“If you write this book it will be career suicide.”

This was the advice given to one of the most iconic stars in the history rock and roll, when he decided to publish his recovery story 10 years ago.

His response? “If just one person gets it besides me, I’m going to be totally stoked.”

Nikki Sixx, co-founder, bassist, and primary songwriter of the iconic band, Motley Crue did write his book, “The Heroin Diaries”. It became a New York Times Best Seller and we know at least one person DID “get it” besides him. High flying and hard living, Freestyle Motocross Professional, turned Recovery Advocate and host of Recovery Today Magazine’s “Scummy Unplugged”, Colin Morrison, told Nikki in this exclusive interview, “Your book saved my life.”

You Need Help?

We invite you to take our test – and determine whether or not you’ve got an issue. If you do, read on, and consider contacting us to guide you through steering your life back to normal.

In 2016 alone, more people died in the United States due to drug overdose, than in the entirety of the Vietnam and Iraq wars, … combined.

A New York Times analysis of state data shows up to 65,000 lost their lives in the United States, last year alone, due to overdose. 65,000 who did not need to die. 65,000 who left behind parents, brothers, sisters and friends. 65,000 causalities of a war which rages even today. A war with no end in sight.

In the time it takes you to listen to this interview, two people will die of overdose in the United States and more than 24 others around the world.

Like the story of the boy who threw a dying starfish back into the ocean to save it from death on the beach, the boy’s father, seeing the beach filled with starfish, asks him, “Why bother? What does it matter? Look how many there are, you can’t save them all.” The boy, seemingly ignoring his father, tosses another starfish back to the surf, turns and simply says, “I saved that one”. Nikki’s book, the Heroin Diaries saved the life of at least one addict we know, Collin “Scummy” Morrison and to us, it matters.

Colin interviewed Nikki about his book The Heroin Diaries on its 10th anniversary and re-release. In this very personal interview, these two recovering addicts talk of the cold and dark realities, the allure, seduction and lie of the addicted mind as well as finding hope beyond addiction. Colin, finally fulfilling a desire born in him in his first days of sobriety, to personally say “thank you” to the mentor he’d never met, the man who wrote the book he was told not to and to tell him, “It saved my life.“

As with all of our exclusive interviews, it’s raw and real and will give you hope. Enjoy.
