A number of celebrities have gone through rough times and realized they needed to go to a rehab to overcome their addiction problems. Following are the details of some celebrities who went to rehab.

1. Zac Efron

During the shoot of “Neighbors,”  the 28-year-old actor was found using hard substances like cocaine and molly. Later it was revealed that he was fighting his alcohol addiction. Zac Efron went to rehab in 2013.

2. John Stamos

Stamos is ranked ninth in the list of “The Best Actors to Start their Careers on Soaps.”  In June 2015, he was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was hospitalized due to a mysterious medical condition. He went to a rehab just a few months before his sitcom “Grandfathered” premiered on Fox in the fall of 2015.

3. Lindsay Lohan

Lohan was only 21 years old when she entered rehab for the first time. Later she went to Malibu’s center after an overdose of alcohol. She went to rehab until November 2014, after which she started to recover and went back to work.

4. Jon Hamm

The “Mad Men” star portrayed a hard drinking womanizer, Don Draper. He completed a 30-day rehabilitation program for alcohol addiction at Silver Hill Hospital in Connecticut. Hamm was found checking out of rehab at the end of March 2015.


5. Robert Downey Jr.

Downey tried his best to keep his drug issues out of the sight of the public. However, the substance abuse was all exposed after 1995. He was inprisoned for three years in 1999 when he failed to take several court-ordered drug tests. A 12-step program along with yoga, meditation and therapy kept him sober after 2003.

6. Britney Spears

After her meltdown in 2007, when she had a split with her ex, Spears shaved her head and attacked a paparazzo’s car with an umbrella. She went to Malibu’s rehab center to seek help.

7. Adam Rich

Rich is known for his comedy-drama series “Eight is Enough.” He almost died of a Valium overdose in 1989 and, later in 2002, was arrested for a DUI. He went to rehab a number of times for drug abuse.

8. Anthony Michael Hall

The actor, director and film producer entered rehab in the late 1980s to get rid of his drinking issues and got stable after 1990.

9. Charlie Sheen

Well known for his character in “Two and a Half Men,” Sheen has visited rehab a number of times. After overdosing on cocaine, he received treatment in 1998. Later in 2010, he was arrested after assaulting his wife.

10. Ben Affleck

Affleck had alcohol issues, and so he entered Malibu’s Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Center in 2001. Affleck has been sober ever since.
